FamilySlate Beta— active testing and improvement before wider release
Help & troubleshooting

Start with the common fixes, then use the in-app guide for the latest Beta steps.

FamilySlate includes its own Help & Troubleshooting section so guidance can stay close to the version you're actually using.

Older-device compatibility: FamilySlate is currently confirmed working on an iPad Air 2 running iOS 15.8.8. We are still testing earlier versions, so 15.8.8 is the oldest proven working version so far, not yet the formal minimum supported version.
How do I add FamilySlate to my iPhone or iPad home screen?

Open FamilySlate in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, then launch FamilySlate from the new icon.

Why does another device show different modules?

That's expected if device-specific modules have been changed. Open Settings on that device and review which modules are enabled for that screen.

How do I connect another device?

Create a pairing invite from Settings on an existing connected device, open the invite on the new device and enter the displayed six-digit PIN when asked.

What happens if I revoke a device?

The revoked device should no longer have access to the household. FamilySlate will clear its local household connection and guide the user to pair again if access is needed later.

What if FamilySlate goes offline?

Where possible, FamilySlate keeps the last-known view available and reconnects when the connection returns. If something remains stale after you're back online, close and reopen the app.

How do I report a bug or suggestion?

Open Settings and choose Report a problem / Send feedback. Include the device type, what you were doing and what happened.

Can I revisit setup?

The Beta includes setup and help options in Settings so you can review configuration when needed.
